Job Description A/V Cinema Service Director is responsible for the management and performance of all active Digital Media field technicians. It is also responsible for oversight, planning, and active participation for all company field work.As the head of this department, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead both the Field Service, installations and Screenings Departments, their development, and performance both technically and administratively. You will also build upon your existing relationships with major content companies and other strategic partners in the industry, with the goal of expanding the general awareness of DMS's services and solutions within the content community and accelerating the adoption and deployment of DMS's services in all entertainment markets.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 (five) years active field service as a motion picture engineer / or other technology service provider and 5 (five) years of management experience and responsibilities within the industry.Essential Job Functions: Oversee all field technical personnel to fulfill customer expectations for quality of services and support. Lead strategy development, prioritization of opportunities, and account engagements to maximize impact of overall technical efforts. Develop and maintain key account plans and profiles. Identify opportunities to build greater visibility and awareness of DMS's audio and video service solutions with content producers, post production community, distributors, emerging new media companies, and key external partners. Identify or contribute to strategic sales, marketing, and business development efforts representing media technologies and services related to digital and film content delivery services to content Creators, Distributors, Networks, and Operators. Submit department budget, review and control costs each year. Review and approve all department specific invoicing for final billing by accounting. Represent DMS at key industry events to uncover new opportunities and to enhance position and relevance in the marketplace. Develop knowledge and training on past, present and future core motion picture technologies. Recruit new technical staff, as per company need, including both entry level and established engineers. Establish relationship with trade / technical schools to ensure steady access to talent. Identify staff training needs and coordinate with the Director of Engineering and upper management on plans and procedures for training. Ensure all field engineers are equipped with proper tools to perform tasks reliably and efficiently. Perform field work as per the company's needs. Attend organizational meetings representing your department as scheduled by upper management. Requirements: 10+ years of Strategic Sales, Business Development and Technical experience within the Broadcast / Digital Media industry with a proven track record in successful strategic services and business development, with significant experience related to motion picture film and digital content delivery and support services to content creators and major studios. Passionate about content and technology with a strong and ongoing desire to understand, track and speak to the dynamic trends happening constantly with entertainment services. Ability to envision new use cases for the company's services and the impact they will have on the industry. Familiarity with content distribution windows and comfort with related technologies including cinema and live performance. Familiarity with post production/encoding/media servicing workflows. Creative problem solver capable of developing, proposing and executing business concepts and deal proposals. Ability to think and act strategically with strong analytical problem solving and negotiating skills. Proven skills in prioritizing and managing many simultaneous, strategic engagements with multiple accounts, with a proven record of exceptional customer follow-up. Outstanding communication skills for effective interactions at executive levels. Naturally able to network, build and maintain relationships; existing up-to-date in-depth network of contacts throughout the content delivery business. Outstanding leadership skills.
