Associate Counsel, Privacy and Regulatory Compliance Full-time Business Segment: Direct-to-Consumer We create world-class content, which we distribute across our portfolio of film, television, and streaming, and bring to life through our theme parks and consumer experiences. We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, USA Network, and Peacock, our premium ad-supported streaming service. The Associate Counsel, Regulatory Compliance and Privacy will support the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) legal team on product and data privacy compliance issues across the DTC group's portfolio of digital properties, including Peacock, Sky NOW/WOW, SkyShowtime, and ShowMax and certain other websites and apps. This role will report to the Vice President, Regulatory Compliance and Privacy. Responsibilities: Support the Regulatory Compliance & Privacy legal team in managing compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to the DTC digital portfolio. Assist with comprehensive product assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk; develop/implement risk mitigation and corrective action plans. Assist attorneys with tracking applicable consumer protection, data privacy, and other regulations and industry standards. Assist with various regulatory compliance projects and perform other program-related duties as needed. Assist with creating, compiling and distributing training and guidance materials. Develop and maintain systems to track legal approvals. Other matters as needed. Qualifications/Requirements: 2+ years of legal experience, including in-house experience, service in a top tier law firm and/or relevant government position. Working knowledge of relevant US and state consumer protection and data privacy laws. A law degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required. Must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of New York or Washington, DC. Must be willing to work in New York, NY or Washington, DC and travel occasionally as needed.
