A law firm in Roseville is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a felony calendar of court-appointed cases from arraignment through jury trial, including settlement negotiations, contested motions, preliminary hearings, and writs. The role involves developing and representing private practice criminal cases in Placer County and surrounding counties such as Sacramento, Yuba, Yolo, El Dorado, Sutter, and Nevada. The ideal candidate should have a work history demonstrating substantial advocacy and criminal litigation experience in either the public or private sector. Proficiency in legal research and writing, adaptability to new technology, and membership in the California State Bar are essential. Duties: Manage a felony calendar of court-appointed cases from arraignment through jury trial. Conduct settlement negotiations, contested motions, preliminary hearings, and writs. Develop and represent private practice criminal cases in Placer County and surrounding counties. Provide advocacy and criminal litigation expertise. Conduct legal research and writing. Requirements: Membership in the California State Bar. Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Skills: Substantial advocacy and criminal litigation experience.
