As a Volunteer and Supporter Engagement Manager , you will inspire and lead a dynamic team of volunteers and activists dedicated to advancing reproductive health and social change across the Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest region. This role offers the unique opportunity to oversee the full volunteer lifecycle"”from recruitment and onboarding to training and supervision"”ensuring that every volunteer and supporter has the tools, resources, and passion needed to make a lasting impact. You'll be the driving force behind operationalizing our supporter engagement workplan, empowering individuals to become ambassadors for social change, advocate for priority issues, and stay actively involved with our cause. You'll work collaboratively with different departments, ensuring that every supporter is engaged meaningfully, whether at our community outreach events in San Diego County or through ongoing engagement efforts. To be successful in this role, you'll need: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience supervising staff/volunteers including performance management 1+ years of experience managing a volunteer program/team 1+ years of experience in database management In this role, you'll get to: Maintain confidentiality of all volunteer information. Manage volunteer recruitment, vetting, and onboarding (screen applications, conduct pre-screens, send orientation info, etc.). Maintain and organize volunteer files, ensuring accurate completion of required documents. Stay proficient in volunteer management system and troubleshoot any issues. Organize and manage volunteer orientations, trainings, and activity nights. Collect and record volunteer timesheets from site supervisors. Ensure volunteers receive appropriate PPPSW swag. Assist in creating new volunteer roles and develop training materials. Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions and community groups for volunteer recruitment. Serve as a resource for volunteer supervisors and department heads, offering coaching and guidance. Promote volunteer recognition and manage appreciation events. Oversee volunteer database (VolunteerHub), ensuring proper data storage and retrieval. Develop database structures and train new staff on database functions. Maintain written procedures for database functionality and assist with volunteer record updates. Provide reports to the Director and staff for quarterly and annual reporting. Coordinate community outreach events, including volunteer recruitment, event supplies, and event data management. Develop and conduct trainings for community outreach volunteers, ensuring compliance with policies. Manage supporter engagement activities in San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial counties. Collaborate with departments to develop and implement supporter engagement strategies and content. Work with Marketing to create and update supporter engagement materials for website and intranet. Develop materials for supporter events such as house parties, book clubs, and movie screenings. Research and organize community-building events and awareness campaigns. Coordinate regional visibility events, providing support to departments in San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial counties. Organize virtual supporter engagement events, including promotion, swag delivery, and follow-up. Assist in vetting C4 Action Fund volunteers and manage onboarding processes. Collaborate with Public Affairs to develop and execute virtual/in-person events, including content creation, recruitment, logistics, and technology support.
