DevOps Engineer (Azure) Grapevine, TX, USA Req #3059 Tuesday, December 3, 2024 For Earth For Life BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION The Cloud DevOps Engineer will be involved in the design, implementation, and support of cloud-based infrastructure within our Azure Cloud. This role will be responsible for working with business counterparts to identify business requirements and convert them into associated technology solutions supporting business initiatives. The role will ensure security is maintained within the cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being a part of a fast-paced team responsible for leading and supporting multiple projects to implement new technology, perform maintenance, and upgrades to the existing environment. Problem solving, vendor management, and interfacing with clients and colleagues across the organization will be key for successful completion of these projects. The position participates in a wide range of activities, from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. The candidate requires knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position will support the Manager with mentoring and training others in the department. Applies knowledge of information technology and associated methods and tools of the administrator profession to attain project/business unit objectives. Advises other professionals (Project Managers, Architects, and IT Specialists) in the team on tools, technology, and methodology related to the design and development of architectural solutions and participates in evaluation and selection. May be asked to research special topics as part of team responsibilities. Negotiates effectively with team members (vendors, subcontractors, customers/dealers, and internal users) to identify each member's role in solution design and development, agree on specific problem-solving, requirements analysis, and design tasks and associated work products, and to define approaches for producing them. Analyzes problems and creates solutions involving business, information technology, methodology, process, tools, and solution components. May lead all or portions of the project, recommending team members and organizing the team, defining tasks, tracking and reporting progress, delivering on time and within budget, and delivering results to the company. Influences customers, vendors, subcontractors, and Kubota users inside and outside the project with presentations on project-related topics. Influence extends to both management and non-management personnel. Lead the design, development, and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as Code deployments, security validation processes, unit testing, documentation, and code review. Works effectively with other team members to understand company needs and to design, evaluate, and develop architectural solutions that meet those needs. Manages cloud infrastructure (Azure) and solutions to improve solution quality. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. In lieu of degree, 5 years of DevOps/Cloud experience required. 5 to 7 years' hands-on experience with cloud technologies (with preference in Azure Cloud). Proven experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role. Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, Terraform). Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Powershell). Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS). Hands-on experience with data warehouse platforms (e.g., Azure Fabric, Databricks, Azure Machine Learning). Strong background with Windows and Linux administration. Experience in Azure AD, specifically IAM and managing enterprise applications. Knowledge of vulnerability management processes. SKILLS AND BACKGROUND: Communication skills with the ability to persuade others on the best approach to take and effectively communicate with varying levels of leadership. Develops and provides written and verbal presentations to customers, peers, and support personnel. Advanced knowledge of process and software modeling and experience translating business needs into requirements. Demonstrates the required proficiency levels for technical skills. Technical skills and IT knowledge related to assigned department to provide services in an information technology environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Typical office environment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Some travel may be required. Potential of 10% travel to remote sites.
