Ancillary Benefit Consultant, Avant Ancillary Benefit Consultant, Avant Apply locations Kansas City time type Full time posted on Posted 6 Days Ago job requisition id R0000088 Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ancillary Benefit Consultant to join our Avant team in Kansas City, MO . This role will provide support in the marketing and service of group employee benefit insurance programs, to contribute to profitability and value, and give overall team support including evaluating the needs and risks of the client and creating a strategy specific to those needs. As an Ancillary Benefits Consultant at Avant Specialty Benefits, you will provide expert consultation on group employee benefit insurance programs, contributing to profitability and team support. You will evaluate client needs and risks, develop tailored strategies, and interact independently with Broker Account Teams, Carriers, and Avant team members. Your role will ensure client expectations and Avant goals are met on time and within budget, following our best practices and procedures. Essential Responsibilities: Act as the Relationship Manager for the Avant team during discovery, RFP, and implementation phases. Develop and maintain carrier lists, product knowledge, and handle requests for demonstrations and maintenance. Manage the RFP process, including data gathering, RFP building, monitoring pricing events, and preparing final sales presentations. Ensure accuracy in reviewing coverages, renewals, applications, new business submissions, policies, premiums, invoicing, and SPD's. Enter and review data in systems like Excel, Workday Strategic Sourcing, and Salesforce. Analyze data for marketing presentations and ensure accuracy by coordinating with staff, vendors, and carriers. Additional Responsibilities: Guide relationships with dedicated account managers at Broker locations, including planning and strategy coordination. Manage project timelines and ensure timely completion of new and renewal presentations. Support campaigns by developing content, monitoring pipelines, and preparing proposal materials. Create presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Assist in training and onboarding new team members, potentially developing training plans and mentoring. Qualifications: Education : High School Diploma required; College degree preferred. Experience : 5+ years' experience in employee benefits, human resources, insurance, or other related fields. Licensing : Active state-specific Life/Health Insurance agent license, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire. Technical designations such as CEBS, CLU, etc. preferred. Skills & Technical Competencies : Proficient knowledge of employee benefit coverages and the ability to apply that knowledge in the performance of the job duties. Read, understand and analyze Life and Disability, Worksite, Dental and Vision coverages, forms, and policies. Actively contributes to defined workflows, including related processes, procedures, and deliverables, and utilizing resources to deliver a world-class client experience and adhering to compliance requirements.
