The Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice strives to help clients in both consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of marketing and sales topics. Your impact within our firm You will collaborate with colleagues and clients to create new strategies across a wide platform of projects, from customer life-cycle management, MROI, pricing and promotions, marketing mix modeling, to analytic transformation. In this role, you will help to expand our current analytics capabilities and architect new strategies and applications within a dynamic innovative organization. You will shape the future of what data-driven organizations look like, drive processes for extracting and using that data in creative ways, and create new lines of thinking within an infinite number of clients and situations, with an eye on optimizing every aspect of our clients' marketing practices. Through the measurement, manipulation, reporting and dissemination of broad sets of data, you will create valuable, transformative business strategies. You'll apply and advise teams on the state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modeling techniques in order to derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions. As a core member of the consulting team, you'll conduct deep analytics on a broad set of client and external data and play a lead role in team problem solving through findings and insights from that analysis. You'll also have the opportunity to lead and support the development of knowledge for our firm's analytics group. You may do this by creating a roadmap for a greater understanding of analytics and its impact in the consulting population or by partnering with other analytics consultants to ensure timely and effective methods on the extraction, assembly and transfer of broad, complex sets of data. Your qualifications and skills Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in economics / mathematics / physics / statistics / operations research and/or 4+ years of experience with advanced analytics and statistical techniques such as multivariate regression / predictive modeling, classification and regression tree (CART/CHAID), factor analysis, correspondence analysis, clustering, discriminant analysis, and Random Forest. Experience in driving sales excellence and using analytics to advance commercial outcomes. Experience designing and running "agile" analytics programs that prove business impact even in absence of well-structured data. Confidence dealing with less-than-perfect data (e.g., cleaning, fusing, extrapolating). Experience in mixed modeling and working with big data techniques is desirable. Experience in probability theory, optimization techniques, and optimization algorithms. Familiarity with Advanced Analytics software tools (e.g. Python, R, SPSS, Alteryx). Ability to identify implications and drive toward business recommendation. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to present in clear and concise manner. Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility and patience in a fluid environment. Team oriented and collaborative approach in working across teams and clients. Salary and Benefits Certain US jurisdictions require McKinsey & Company to include a reasonable estimate of the salary for this role. For new joiners for this role in the United States, including all office locations where the job may be performed, a reasonable estimated range is $192,000 - $192,000 USD -to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest (salary/hourly wages) for this role at the time of this posting, ensuring you have a clear picture right from the start, though it's important to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
