We are looking to bring on an operational analyst to help support the daily operations of the insurance companies under the BlueSky umbrella. Summary The Business Analyst will be instrumental in optimizing operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and analyzing key operational data within the insurance sector. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of insurance operations, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives to enhance performance across multiple insurance entities. We are looking for an individual who is driven, goal-oriented, and wants to be a part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to operate within cross-functional teams, and is comfortable multitasking. This is an onsite position, requiring five days in the office. Responsibilities Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data related to underwriting, claims, premiums, and policy administration across the portfolio of insurance companies. Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and present actionable insights to stakeholders. Generate and compile comprehensive monthly and ad hoc reports for reinsurance partners, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to contractual agreements. Collaborate with relevant teams to gather necessary data and insights required for reinsurance reporting, incorporating key performance metrics and industry-specific information. Proactively identify areas for enhanced reporting efficiency and implement streamlined processes to optimize reporting for reinsurance partners. Process Improvement and Optimization Assess current operational processes within each insurance entity to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement. Utilize historical data and industry trends to forecast future needs, assist in budget planning, and support strategic decision-making for the insurance portfolio. Contribute to the development of operational strategies to optimize performance and achieve business objectives. Identify opportunities for automation and work closely with IT teams to implement technological solutions where applicable. Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication Work closely with underwriting, claims, finance, and other departments to align operational strategies and drive initiatives that improve overall performance. Risk Management and Compliance Collaborate with compliance teams to monitor and implement changes to policies and procedures in response to regulatory updates. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Economics, Math or related field. 2+ years of experience in operations analysis, process improvement, or a similar role. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data and findings to diverse audiences. Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work independently and learn quickly. Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Solid time management skills and multitasking abilities.
