Business Systems Analyst 3 - Revenue Integrity - FT Days UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. To learn more about UCI Health, visit Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Incumbent plays an ongoing key role in the organization's goal of increasing automation within the department, either via existing or new technology or process improvements while ensuring compliance with government mandated HIPAA requirements in the claims arena. This position will implement, modify and troubleshoot specified systems or applications, data flows, information transmissions, and report designs throughout the receivables cycle while providing production support to both staff and PFS Leadership. Using a collaborative process, the incumbent will contribute significantly to the analysis of accurate data exchange between Registration, Patient Financial Services, Patient Access Services, Revenue Audit and the different systems/applications (e.g. claim scrubber, contractual writeoff calculators, address validation, dialers, etc.) that interface directly or indirectly to the current patient account system while adhering to compliance and security policies and procedures to ensure the current AR system security. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications: Understanding of billing related EDI formats and requirements Strong oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with staff, senior management and external constituents Strong knowledge of healthcare automated systems utilized in a Business Office environment Strong knowledge of MS Office products to include Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize key information clearly and concisely Must possess the knowledge to map specifications for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) using ANSI-837 Familiarity with rules and regulations governing various payers Detailed knowledge of registration, billing and collections processes and data requirements gained through at least two years experience working in a hospital based environment utilizing an automated Patient Accounting system Ability to work independently and take initiative to identify priorities and manage workload accordingly Ability to think critically and problem solve independently as well as collaboratively as required Ability to read and understand intent of regulatory documents to be able to assess impact on current operational processes Ability to lead others on a project basis Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and develop and recommend new processes as needed Preferred Qualifications: Specific knowledge of Invision Patient Accounting System Project management experience Knowledge of UC policies and procedures Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Computer Sciences Conditions of Employment: Background Check and Live Scan Legal Right to Work in the United States Vaccination Policies Smoking and Tobacco Policy Drug Free Environment Closing Statement: The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
