TITLE: Senior Editor REPORTS TO: Chief Creative Officer ABOUT US: Blu Dot ( an award-winning designer and maker of modern home furnishings, is currently searching for a Senior Editor to join our dynamic and values-driven company. ABOUT THE ROLE: Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, you will lead all writing and editorial at Blu Dot. In this role you will serve as a key member of the creative team. You will hone and guide Blu Dot's voice via elegant and purposeful solutions"”from foundational brand documents to promotional product copy to conceptual long-form editorial. You will represent and advocate for brand and creative goals among internal cross-functional teams, and as you engage with external partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Adopt, develop, and champion the Blu Dot voice: irreverent but informative; impactful and amusing; promotional but tasteful; sincere and purposeful; always human. Create and maintain brand editorial guidelines and style guides. Create and maintain Blu Dot's editorial calendar under the direction of the CCO and key stakeholders. Ensure that efforts are strategically aligned, and company objectives realized. Serve as a creative partner to design, brand creative, and marketing teams. Offer editorial insight and input across a varied range of deliverables, including but not limited to print, website, email, social, and in-store applications. Oversee freelance contributors, and ensure their work meets established deadlines and standards. Engage deeply in a collaborative creative review process. Track and input changes based on feedback from key stakeholders through multiple rounds of revisions. Ensure that all copy is factually accurate and grammatically correct. Develop relevant and meaningful goals and objectives in relation to the above. Foster a culture of curiosity, exploration, and continuous learning and improvement. IDEAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years experience in brand editorial, copy writing, journalism, or a related role. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrable mastery of the written word"”from short promotional blurbs to long-form editorial. You are a linguistic Swiss army knife. Ability to think strategically and conceptually. Ability to balance diverse workload. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
