GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing employees. Assist management and hourly staff in executing operations that maximize throughput in the most cost-efficient manner while maintaining quality and safety standards. Complete all transfer documentation and evaluate employee performance in conjunction with transfer policies With assistance of the area manager engage in corrective action processes when necessary to meet quality, efficiency, and safety standardsMaintain all KPI's for the areaWork closely with Leads to move employees around to maintain on-time shipmentsWork closely with Manger on any employee performance/disciplinary issues that come upWork closely with Manger on product improvement projectsEnsure adequate cross training throughout department staffApproval of weekly timecards and PTO request. QualityAccurately complete documentation associated with non-conforming processes Adhere to Marion Body Works Inc. Quality Policy Investigate root cause of non-conforming product and submit improvement recommendationProcess Flow & ImprovementEvaluate workload and work with your production manager to achieve the production goalsEstablish, evaluate and maintain fair and reasonable goal hoursOrganize and distribute the work in your area to maintain a constant and orderly flow to other parts of the companyParticipate in product improvement committees, as neededMaintain department performance reportsFundamentalsDemonstrate complete knowledge of mission, value and ethics statementMaintain a clean, safe and orderly work area throughout the departmentKeep company property and equipment safe and secureComplete required accident reports for assigned employeesReport to your production manager and to the maintenance department any machine, fixture, etc. that is unsafe or in disrepairMaintain regular attendance to prevent missing customer deadlinesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESAbility to efficiently function in fast-paced work environment Proficient computer skills for time entry in ERP system, Assembly drawings, item inquiry, inventory transactions and Standard Work Instructions Must be able to interpret work orders, drawings, layouts, sketches, route sheets, and production schedule Professional oral and written communication skills. Follow written communications and verbal instructions Basic knowledge in shop math, be able to convert decimals and fractions, measure and build to within military specifications, check work for dimensional accuracy and correct as needed Proficient knowledge to use various power and machine tools. Must be able to use hand tools and measuring devices, as well as assembly fixtures to complete assemblies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required Perform 5S checks in area and report items not completed Work independently without needing direct supervisionEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEManufacturing experience preferredHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentForklift Certified preferredAbility to establish and maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers and co-workers ABOUT US:Marion Body is an independent, family owned and operated manufacturer located in Marion, Wisconsin and Shawano, Wisconsin where the company was founded in 1905 and has been in continuous operation ever since.
