This position would be responsible for managing and processing biweekly payrolls for all entities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Processes payroll accurately and on timeResponsible for auditing and importing time records from timekeeping system and resolving errors such as missed punchesCollects, reviews, and corrects timesheets for salaried non-exempt employees; inputs pay data into PaycomAudits scanned labor hours in Webwise and works closely with managers to correct errors; reconciles Lawson M3 and Webwise hoursTracks, processes and reviews paychecksTracks payroll issues to reduce hand keying and payroll errorsProcess payroll for the Canadian subsidiary and prepare the annual T-2’s and various other payroll related reportsProcesses wire payment requests for foreign payroll through accounts payableProcesses W2’s and other yearend reportingMaintain secure and confidential payroll system, files, and sensitive informationReview accuracy of data entered for new hires, terminations, and employee changesAnalyze and review information to guarantee the right application of local, state, and federal rules and taxes in all states where the Company does businessWork closely with HR, Finance, IT, or other departments to assist with queries, audits, and ad hoc projectsStay current on legislative changes (federal, state, local)Employee benefit responsibilitiesAudits, adjusts, and processes health insurance bills for changes in employment or statusPrepares data for 401(k) non-discrimination and top heavy testingCompletes garnishment and employment verification paperwork on time and according to processWork with third party processor to respond to garnishment/child support related inquiriesAccount reconciliation and financial analysisPrepares monthly journal entries for Columbia Machine, Inc. and Columbia Okura, LLC.Reconciles G/L accounts for COBRA, flexible spending, benevolent fund, employee purchases, employee advances, and 401(k)Prepares reports such as total wages (for incentive plan calculations), overtime hours and PTO reportSupports internal and external customerUnderstands and documents internal and external customer needs and expectationsCommunicates to appropriate team(s) when an expectation will not be metAssist employees with payroll related questionsContributes to continuous improvement effortDocuments processes and procedures, eliminates non-value added activities, and participates in cross functional CI teamsMaintains professional and technical knowledgeEstablishes personal networks, participates in professional societies, attends professional workshops and reviews publicationsContributes to team effortWilling to attempt new assignments or fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assignedQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
