Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - School Health Program Location: Houston, TX Type: PRN and Long Term Assignments Salary: $35/hr About Us: Protouch Staffing is seeking a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) to join our school health team for the 2025 school year. In this role, you will work closely with students, staff, and the Registered Nurse (RN) program leader to ensure the health and safety of the students in our care. Your work will support the District's health program while addressing the individual health needs of students. Primary Purpose: The LVN will be responsible for implementing the district's school health program and providing direct care services to meet the health and safety needs of students and staff. Under the supervision of the RN program leader or supervising RN school nurse and campus principal, you will ensure that students' medical needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner. Qualifications: Required: Valid Texas LVN license or compact for at least 2yrs. Successful completion of the Licensed Vocation Nursing program at accredited school. AED/CPR certification - American Heart Association only The ability to implement emergency care including the ability to independently respond to an emergency, perform CPR, administer emergency medications, and other lifesaving measures within standard practice guidelines. Finger printing for the district (one time requirement, previous will count) Complete immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, Flu) Current TB Skin Test or Chest x-ray Preferred: Two+ years of experience in community health, pediatric nursing, or other relevant fields that involve direct contact with school-age children Special Knowledge/Skills: Practical working knowledge of nursing procedures and techniques, particularly in pediatric care. Proficient computer skills and filing expertise. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff through both oral and written forms Skillful operation of health-related equipment, such as blood pressure cuffs, otoscopes, audiometers, thermometers, and basic clinic tools. Key Responsibilities: Provide first aid and basic care to students Provide clinic, classroom or direct 1:1 care to a student with complex medical needs, including trach, vent, and G-tube management. Monitor the student's vital signs and respond to any medical needs promptly. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions Maintain accurate health records (medications, treatments, screenings, etc.) Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as required by state law Collaborate with school staff, parents, and the RN Program Leader on student health needs Educate staff on health-related issues and guide unlicensed personnel as needed Assist with IEP/ARD meetings and crisis interventions Ensure compliance with state health laws and Medicaid billing (SHARS)Physical & Mental Demands: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as standing, lifting, and assisting students Ability to remain calm under stress and manage urgent situations Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly pay Health, dental, and vision benefits Professional development opportunities How to Apply: Submit your most current resume online or email to robin@.
