Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing and maintaining equipment, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, cleanliness, and escalation of assigned equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications. Essential Functions: * Diagnose equipment failures, find root cause, and communicate actions taken to the rest of the team. * Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, die cutter machines, hydraulic systems, conveyors, steam systems, and related plant and facility equipment * Follow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO and 5-S), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times * Reads, reviews, and applies blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals to fix, repair, and maintain equipment. * Reads and writes electrical drawings * Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times. * Organize and maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the maintenance area as well as performing spares inventory audits to ensure accuracy. * Perform equipment repairs and rebuilds. * Recommend countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns. * Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, scissor lifts, forklifts, hand tools, welding and power tools. * Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools, etc.
