Job Summary: Maintaining accurate inventory levels by tracking incoming and outgoing goods, managing stock orders, performing physical counts, and utilizing inventory management systems to ensure timely product availability and optimize supply chain efficiency within a company; duties include monitoring stock levels, identifying discrepancies, resolving inventory issues, and collaborating with other departments to maintain smooth operations. Key responsibilities of an inventory specialist may include: * Stock management: Regularly monitoring inventory levels to identify potential stockouts or overstocking situations and placing purchase orders accordingly. * Receiving and processing shipments: Verifying incoming deliveries against purchase orders, checking for damage, and accurately recording received items in the inventory system. * Inventory cycle counting: Performing physical counts of stock items at regular intervals to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies. * Data entry and record keeping: Updating inventory management systems with accurate data regarding stock levels, product details, and shipment information. * Order fulfillment: Picking and packing orders based on customer requirements, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. * Vendor management: Communicating with suppliers regarding inventory levels, pricing, and delivery schedules. * Inventory analysis: Identifying trends in inventory usage and recommending adjustments to stock levels based on demand forecasting. * Discrepancy resolution: Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, including damaged goods, missing items, and incorrect stock counts. * Warehouse organization: Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse space to facilitate efficient inventory management. Required skills and qualifications: * Proficiency in inventory management software: Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory tracking tools. * Attention to detail: Ability to accurately record inventory data and identify discrepancies. * Numerical skills: Comfortable with basic math calculations and data analysis. * Organizational skills: Efficiently managing multiple tasks and maintaining a structured approach to inventory control. * Communication skills: Effective communication with colleagues in other departments, including sales, purchasing, and logistics. Requires at least three years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear foot and other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May continuously stand for an extended period and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel, and reach for items in and around the press area. Also, write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-mandated deadlines.
