Responsibilities: Directs the activities of the Purchasing Department (Product Specialists, Buyers, Vendor Performance Specialist). Prepares reports for management concerning scope of audit, makes recommendations to the field and corporate on ways to improve the process. Performs month-end inventory reconciliations. Oversees the tracking of consignment and remote inventory. Acts as a liaison between corporate office and branches. Generates monthly inventory adjustments by branch. Prepares monthly management inventory reports. Responsible for managing purchase and expedite process to meet customer expectations. The Corporate Inventory Manager should be proactive and seek opportunity to develop or revise existing team procedures and policies to meet the needs of the customer while maintaining company policy. Key responsibilities will include providing recommendations, communication to internal and external contacts, problem solving and task or project-based execution. In addition, managing, monitoring, and motivating a team of direct reports to ensure company and customer needs are met. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Train, direct and oversee buyers and expeditors for daily purchasing, ensuring the lowest product acquisition costs based on inventory standards and company policy. * Communicate and coordinate incoming and outgoing orders with relevant departments. * Ensure the timely updating of 'Market Costs" used as a basis for resale price calculations. * Implement and update existing purchasing procedures. * Develop new or modify existing tools to create department efficiencies * Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. * Collaborate with sales, accounts payable, operations, product management, and finance to solve issues and improve customer service. * Weekly reporting on purchases, supplier performance activities, team projects and results * O+E - projections, status * Inventory- projections and performance strategies-and-execution * "Live" inventory value - what it means, how to respond * Surplus (excess) inventory - how to manage that, coordination with TW UK * Manages a team of employees; including hiring decisions, providing feedback on performance; development to ensure career growth and promote succession planning * Document and maintain records on individual team members performance. EDUCATION and/or EXPERTISE: * Bachelors' degree a minimum of 5 years' experience in inventory management, purchasing, sales or a related field. LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read, write, and fluently speak the English Language. Ability to read and comprehend concepts of moderate to high difficulty and the ability to communicate responses and actions related to these concepts. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and particularly to be able to freely determine ratios. The ability to generate graphic representations of data is required. OTHER * Advanced working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs * Ability To apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
