The Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Deputy Director of Facilities Management in the identification, prioritization, planning, and execution of a variety of moderate to large scale infrastructure construction projects for the department. Responsibilities of the Project Manager: * Assists the Deputy Director in the planning and procurement of small and large professional services associated with architecture, engineering, construction, and construction management following State procurement laws, regulations, and procedures. * Coordinates and manages assigned capital improvement and renovation projects of moderate to large complexity following State and Federal codes, laws, regulations, and procedures in administering construction. * Evaluates and assesses existing building conditions within the Agency and provides recommendations in the prioritization, budgeting, and scheduling of permanent improvement projects and renovations. * Maintains project funding and expenditure records, coordinates vendor payments and manages project spending. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Requirements: * A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture with five years related experience. * Specialized certifications and accreditations, or experience directly related to Commercial Construction may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree. Additional Requirements: * Work is performed in both a field and office environment, but often requires the employee to perform duties outdoors which includes working in and around construction sites. * Travel and field work will be required in areas where there are some risks and hazards that are known, predictable, and controllable. * Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb and traverse undulating terrain unassisted in designated working areas. * Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50Ibs unassisted. * Position may require overnight travel. * Positions requires routine driver duties. * Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations. * Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
