Position Summary These positions are responsible for assisting the biologist/technician on all aspects of fisheries surveys, trout stream habitat restoration projects, and equipment maintenance for the Antigo fisheries staff (Langlade and Lincoln Counties). Activities would include construction of a variety of trout habitat restoration activities on streams and spring ponds; deployment of a variety of assessment gear; collection of biological data on target fish species; and accurately tabulate, enter, and summarize biological data. 40% Compile and analyze data and prepare written documentation and/or reports. 50% Perform stream bank or habitat improvement projects or independently develop projects including determining location of riprap, fish cribs and other material. Install water control devices. 10% Assist Fisheries technician and/or biologist as directed. Salary Information These positions pay $17.00 per hour and is in pay schedule and is in the Fisheries Technician classification pay schedule and range 06-12. Compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and will not automatically lead to permanent state employment or be entitled to the same benefits as permanent employees. Special Requirements: 1) Residency: To be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin. A Wisconsin resident is a person who: a. Has established a residence, as defined in s. 6.10(1), in this state not less than 10 days earlier; b. Has resided in this state for not less than a total of one year out of the immediately preceding 5 years; c. Is eligible to register to vote in this state; or d. Is the spouse of a person meeting the requirements of par. (a), (b), or (c)." s.230.03(12), Wis.
