Purpose: The Production Supervisor will be responsible to effectively and optimally manage the production line and its people in order to meet output, efficiency, productivity, safety, yield, cost and cycle time targets while maximizing product quality, employee engagement and satisfaction. Reporting To: Manufacturing Manager (Production group) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Oversee the production process and ensure that production targets are met. * Manage a team of production workers and ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively * Ensure that all safety protocols are being followed * Ensure that the production process is running smoothly * Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve efficiency and productivity * Train new production workers and provide ongoing training to existing workers * Monitor production output and adjust schedules as needed to meet production targets * Collaborate with other departments to ensure that production goals are aligned with overall company goals. Education, Experience and Skills Required: * Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience * Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production supervisory role in a similar factory environment * Strong leadership and management skills * Excellent time management * Able to plan and execute tasks well * Strong problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities * Possess tenacity and resilience to reach goals * Excellent communication, empathetic personality and interpersonal skills * Good teamwork skills * Possess initiative and capable of working independently * Knowledge of production processes and procedures * Working experience with Lean 6-sigma Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints principles are a plus * Good working knowledge of software applications: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent Roles & Responsibilities Attendance & gowning * Adhere to all safety protocol and smock procedures at all times in the manufacturing facility * Be present at the assigned area at least 10 minutes before start of shift for passdown to ensure all pertaining information is shared and be ready to take over from the outgoing shift. * Perform shift duties and overtime as required by the Production Manager * Remain on factory floor at least 90% unless required at meetings by the Production Manager. * Observe break times and punctuality at work in accordance with company policy and ensure that subordinates do so also. Main Duties - Operations * Address yield, quality, productivity, housekeeping, safety and operational concerns in the production line by involving the necessary parties * Production Resources Planning and Scheduling * Plan and strategize WIP inventory/movement * Maximize throughput * Line linearity/balancing * Minimize equipment idle time. * Optimize the use of available resources * Ensure optimum flow of WIP among equipment, implementing Push and Pull systems as required * Take pro-active measures on bottleneck equipment by WIP management, by allocating operators, and triggering support from other departments (Escalation). * Execute daily plan to meet output commit for the area of responsibility within the factory. * Deploy production goals, policies and targets to the workforce in the area of responsibility. * Ensure 5S and good manufacturing practice is being performed on the manufacturing floor. * Carry out plans/improvements as directed by Production Management. * Address tool and process issues immediately and escalate appropriately. * Monitor material supply. Address any issues immediately and escalate appropriately. * Update progress of special projects to the responsible parties, as required. * Recommend improvement on process, machine and functional area performance as a whole. * Execution and implementation of defined plans and strategies in support of continuous factory improvement. * Execute agreed Escalation Procedures effectively to resolve unscheduled downtime of critical machines. * Actively participate and update line concerns through manufacturing meetings. * Patrol the line during Rounds to ensure compliance to all standards including (but not limited to) housekeeping, 5S, Operations Instructions, safety, discipline inside & outside of the factory, break policies, break coverage and work hours. * Ensure that wafers and other products are processed according to company quality standards in a cost-effective manner. * Provide feedback for policy development and comply and enforce established policy and procedures. Main Duties - Supervisory * Attend to issues and concerns from subordinates. * Oversee manufacturing operations and subordinates' performance. * Ensure all subordinates perform their expected duties * Coach, train and develop subordinates to continuously improve and optimize systems, including (but not limited to) identifying efficiency and productivity improvements * Take disciplinary actions on subordinates for tardiness, procedural, housekeeping and safety violations. * Supervise external parties, e.g. vendors, in the production area with regards to production floor discipline, schedules, and policies relating to client confidentiality. * Responsible to provide feedback in a timely manner to subordinates and to prepare subordinates KI/Evaluation and APR (Annual Performance Review). * Prepares CPR (Career Path Review) for subordinates. Escalation and Reporting * Escalate to Manager any operational concerns including (but not limited to) yield, quality, output, productivity, break policy, break coverage, housekeeping, safety and discipline violations/issues in a timely manner. * Proactively identify issues, and initiate corrective actions to solve them * Identify and highlight to Manufacturing Manager any training needs required in their area of supervision. The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $104,600 and $137,235. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
