Job Title: MRI Technologist Job Specialty: Radiology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:20 PM and 9 AM to 5 PM Guaranteed Hours: 37.50 hours per week Experience: Minimum experience required License: New York State License (L.R.T.) Certifications: - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI Certified) - BLS Certification Must-Have: - Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology - NY State IV Certification - Proficient in English (Speak, Read, Write) Job Description: - Perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks. - Conduct MRI imaging procedures and operate specialized equipment. - Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures. - Apply technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies per written protocols and patient needs. - Provide patient education related to specific imaging procedures, informing patients of the nature of the procedure and specific instructions. - Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions before scanning. - Ensure patients are cleared for transition between zones. - Assist in administering opaque media and load power injector under aseptic techniques. - Position patients and associated coils for optimal imaging. - Scan patient-related documents. - Ensure all images are appropriately labeled as specified by department SOP. - Assist physicians as needed. - Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS. - Maintain radiology room and equipment cleanliness, including removing soiled or dirty linen. - Maintain necessary supplies and accessories in the imaging room. - Accurately record patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System). - Schedule exams and ensure studies are completed in IDX timely. - Inform supervisor or appropriate personnel of equipment repairs or unsafe conditions. - Adhere to infection control policies and protocols. - Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required. - Maintain licensure in good standing, including adherence to relevant health codes.
