Overview We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Cargo Service Clerk to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring smooth operations in our shipping and receiving department. The ideal candidate will manage interactions with truck drivers, coordinate scheduling, and handle communication with customers, all while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Responsibilities Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring smooth operations in our shipping and receiving department. The ideal candidate will manage interactions with truck drivers, coordinate scheduling, and handle communication with customers, all while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Truck Driver Interaction: Greet and check in truck drivers upon arrival at the facility. Manage the check-out process for drivers, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient turnaround. Provide clear instructions and directions to truck drivers regarding loading and unloading procedures. Scheduling: Coordinate shipment and delivery schedules with truck drivers, customers, and internal teams. Update schedules promptly to reflect changes, ensuring seamless operations. Communication: Answer phones and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner. Serve as the primary point of contact for truck drivers regarding shipping and receiving inquiries. Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff and management to ensure accurate and efficient order handling. Customer Service: Deliver excellent service to truck drivers and customers by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor in all interactions. Documentation & Attention to Detail: Accurately complete shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs. Ensure all data entry is precise and up to date within internal systems. Conduct routine checks to verify the accuracy of shipments and deliveries. Qualifications: Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is preferred. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or logistics software. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills. Working Conditions: Office and warehouse environment with frequent interaction with truck drivers and customers. May require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
