Position Summary: Supervises and coordinates the work of value-stream employees. The incumbent schedules, assigns and oversees all work pertaining to manufacturing; ensures that policies and procedures are followed by production personnel (leads, operators and packers). The incumbent assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures that standardize and optimize manufacturing efficiencies. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Schedule and assign work roles and duties. * Ensure that manufacturing policies and procedures are understood and followed. * Teach, train and coach team members to improve adherence to policies and procedures. * Ensure that acceptable quality levels are maintained. * Identify opportunities for elimination of waste. * Develop corrective and preventive actions to resolve safety, quality and production issues. * Lead teams to foster continual improvement initiatives. * Identify areas in need of maintenance and report these needs to the maintenance team. * Maintain good housekeeping practices. * Provide regular feedback to all subordinates related to their performance. * Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. * Adhere to all company work rules. * Adhere to all safety rules and practices. * Use or wear all appropriate safety equipment. * Understands basic lean and 5s principles. * Understands productivity and the need for continuous improvement in their direct area of leadership. * Understands the importance of driving and consistently reviewing KPIs that drive performance. Requirements: * High school diploma or GED, 1 - 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Comfortable leading, coaching, training and motivating * Good organizational and planning skills * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written * Strong mathematical and analytical skills are preferred * Must be able to read and write in English. * Forklift certification required. Physical Requirements: * Frequent lifting 55 lbs. Maximum. * Must be able to move about the production facility as duties require. * Should be able to judge distances, and detect moving and stationary objects when transporting items in order to adhere with safety requirements * Must be able to constantly recognize product types and safety/warning material (some small in size). * Constantly required to identify color coded safety & warning areas/notices (most commonly colored yellow and red and some in small print) in order to maintain a safe work environment. * Constantly works in an environment that includes seasonal heat & humidity; exposure to safety areas with moving equipment; dust/dirt; noise; vibrations from equipment; lighting differences; and occasional fumes. * Frequently required to perform movements using the wrists, hands and/or fingers * Frequently receives or exchanges information with management or other personnel regarding work requests or issues. * Must be able to identify and react to potential hazards.
