The successful candidate will be a seasoned financial professional with a deep understanding of complex not-for-profit financial environments. This role requires the ability to align financial imperatives with the institutional mission, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in budgeting strategies, tax-exempt revenue streams, and funding mechanisms. The VP will serve in an advisory capacity, offering guidance to senior leaders in a way that is accessible to non-financial colleagues, and will be responsible for a wide range of financial and business operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury functions, and various compliance areas. Key responsibilities for the VP of Finance and Controller include providing day-to-day financial and business expertise, consulting on asset management decisions, and overseeing staff in financial affairs, endowment accounting, payroll, and procurement. The role also involves close collaboration with the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, as well as other leaders, to ensure effective financial planning, monitoring of cash flow, and the development of balanced operating budgets.
