Fish Cheeks is a vibrant restaurant located on the iconic Bond Street in NoHo serving contemporary Thai food with a focus on seafood. Named for the lean, tender cheek meat that is considered the tastiest part of a fish and a delicacy in Asia, the critically-acclaimed and widely-beloved restaurant offers a menu of unabashedly intense, fresh and vivid dishes that span the diverse regions of Thailand. Fish Cheeks is a concept that celebrates the cultural heritage and the culinary artistry found in Bangkok and beyond. Founders' decided to open Fish Cheeks with desire to bring traditional Thai cuisine to NYC, offering a menu that highlights the unfiltered flavors they craved from their upbringing in Thailand and re-creates the type of convivial and communal-style dining found across the country - from the street-stalls to fine-dining restaurants. Fish Cheeks is now hiring a General Manager to join our team! We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow with our restaurants. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the hospitality industry. The candidate should have a passion for pushing culinary and entrepreneur boundaries and a deep understanding of the culinary arts are essential. Compensation Band: $100,000 - $120,000 annually Bonus Structure: Max additional $54,000 annually Responsibilities Maintain a working knowledge of all menu items offered in the restaurant, including basic ingredients, allergens, techniques, etc. Maintain an understanding of the proper steps of service and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service. Anticipate guest needs and work closely with all FOH team members to ensure each table's needs are met. Ensure constant communication with staff members, management and the kitchen as necessary at all times during service in order to serve guests. Efficiently organize orders, manage cash and credit card transactions. Demonstrate speed and accuracy when using the POS system during service. Maintain the space and service stations according to DOH standards, retaining a professional, clean appearance during all parts of service. Demonstrates leadership; Sets the example for all new members and can train and coach all members of the team. Responsible for the opening and closing of the restaurant as it relates to the physical operations, as well as administrative tasks. Responsible for all administrative tasks as they relate to tips and end of night reports. Manage all delivery platforms and ensure items are up to date. Oversee deliveries and vendors. Oversee employee punches and end of night shift reports. Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service. Reliably complete all assigned sidework Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards. Food Safety Certificate required. Required Qualifications 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high volume or restaurant of highly comparable establishment in cuisine, style of service, and revenue. Valid Food Handler's Certification Experience with Resy, Toast, Google Suite strongly preferred A desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflict Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team Self-motivated, detail oriented, and results driven Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment Physical Demands The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
