Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Purpose of Role: Facilitate prepackaged inbound and outbound traffic through accurate and timely coordination via warehouse management systems. Key Areas of Accountability for Shipping Clerk/Attendant: Primary responsibilities include: * Responds to driver requests for assistance by troubleshooting and providing solutions * Performs only arrival office operations associated with inbound movements * Collaborates with warehouse supervisor on space availability and coordination * Acts as a liaison with the drivers, and operators * Distributes daily loading and unloading packets to the warehouse personnel * Provides driver outbound documentation on weight specific shipments * Communicates driver concerns to the Traffic Coordinator/Planner * Handles all inbound and outbound documentation requests * Transmits all outbound documentation via warehouse management system * Handles export container interchanges * Other duties as assigned Contacts: * Internal: Shipping, Customer Solutions, Transportation * External: Drivers, Carriers Skills - Knowledge: * Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal * Great attention to detail * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook with the aptitude to quickly learn and understand additional applications * Willingness to adapt and take charge in an evolving environment * Ability to maintain a high level of organization and prioritization * Strong phone etiquette and active listening skills * Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and the organizations. * Proven ability to work well within a team and promote strong working relationships meanwhile, maintaining professional attitude and positive outlook * Capacity to produce a large quantity of error free work in a timely fashion Special Role Requirements: * CAN-DO Attitude * Problem-solving Skills * Must possess excellent interpersonal skills * Innate sense of urgency that provides proactive and consistent work * Excellent Multitasking ability * Proactive, Approachable, and Accountable * Functional knowledge of a warehouse environment * Work well under pressure * Flexible / Adaptable * Able to efficiently work under minimal supervision * Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse shipping * Forklift experience a plus Physical Requirements: * Clerk: Work in a seated position for extended periods of time * Attendant: Work in a standing position for extended periods of time * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment NOTICE TO APPLICANTS: Ravago Americas is an equal employment opportunity employer.
