We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team on 2nd shift.Summary of Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirects daily production to ensure product is produced on-time, according to quality standards and in compliance with both customer and Company requirements.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirects the lead persons and employees in assigned departments with respect to daily production schedule and resources. Initiates and monitors procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality in assigned departments. Supervises the daily activities of the production supervisors and engineering department to ensure compliance with Company standards, policies and procedures and to satisfy customer requirements.Ensures compliance with cost containment and sales throughput requirements.Ensure efficient space utilization within the facility,Assists other staff-level managers in planning and implementing facility-wide or cross-department projects or initiatives.Develops joint programs with customers including: quick turns, new product development and cost reduction initiatives.Trains and develops supervisory personnel in manufacturing operations issues.Provides input on capital acquisitions.Performs all other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED and two years of technical training (including advanced blueprint reading and advanced shop math) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prefer Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.Requires 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience. Prior experience in a sheet metal facility is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesComputer skills including prior experience with personal computers (and accompanying programs), networks and ERP systems. Prior experience with M2M helpful. Basic knowledge of equipment operation in area(s) of responsibility, including preventative maintenance and safety procedures. Ability to use basic quality inspection equipment including calipers and micrometers.Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Working ConditionsConstant exposure to one or more elements typically found in a manufacturing setting such as noise, dust, heat, fumes or dirt, which may not be desirable. In some areas, exposure to hazards may require the use of personal protective equipment.Decision-Making / ConfidentialityModerate level of independent judgement and decision making within Company policies to resolve operational problems and to determine manufacturing processes and procedures.Handles confidential data such as employee information, product design information and work center ratesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this position.
