Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic will utilize general construction knowledge and proven experience to successfully complete construction projects and maintenance tasks in a timely manner as assigned with minimum supervision and direction. The mechanic will not only follow the direction of supervisors and managers, but also recognize tasks needed to be completed and reporting those to supervisors. Communication and critical thinking skills are very important to this role. Drywall finishing experience is highly desired in this role. Essential Job Functions * Responsible for purchasing materials needed to complete team assignments. These include but are not limited to: * Building materials for construction projects (sheetrock, paint, studs, etc). * Materials for repair and maintenance projects (ceiling tiles, light bulbs, ballasts, etc). * Specialty items needed for both construction and repairs and maintenance (wall paper, InPro, etc). * Preparing invoices and fuel receipts to be forwarded to Accounting by indicating to which department or project the invoice is to be assigned. * Able to work early or late to complete projects when unable to complete during business hours. * Able to work effectively with others during business hours to achieve project goals while minimizing effect on other team members and patients. * Completes tasked assigned in a timely manner. Uses time wisely to work more efficiently and maintaining the schedules set for projects. * Maintains equipment and tools in good working order; keeps up with personally assigned tools. * Provides preventative maintenance at all facilities. Completes routine maintenance requests when assigned. * Is able to perform duties as follows: * Able to read blueprints and other drawings accurately. * Lay out walls accurately and true. * Hang sheetrock. * Finish sheetrock. * Layout drop ceilings. * Lay flooring (tile and carpet). * Hang wallpaper * Paint walls, doors and trim. * Perform minor electrical, plumbing and woodworking duties. * Is willing to learn new skills to meet the needs of assigned duties. * Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications High school graduate or GED is required. Clean driving record. Experience Three years professional experience in building maintenance or construction. Drywall finishing is preferred.
