Job Description:Roskam Foods Position Title: Production SupervisorReports to: Production ManagerRoskam Baking Company is a fourth-generation family-owned business that has been operating in the greater Grand Rapids area since 1923. Our strategic partners include some of the largest food companies and retailers in North America. We also have our own product lines under the Rothbury Farms and Grandpa's Oven Brands.Our Production Supervisors provide overall leadership during the production shift with a focusing on delivering to key operational performance indicators and meeting standards and requirements for employee safety, food safety and food quality. The production supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring all aspects and activities during the shift including scheduling monitoring, cleans, inventory, changeovers and employee related matters.As an Effective leader aligns and promotes organizational values to create a values-based culture. The Production Supervisor promotes a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality and performance to deliver to the operational the business.As the Production Supervisor you:Understand company goals, developing plans and tactics to deliver key performance indicators and operational productivity within his shift.Actively participate in production line capacity analysis to allow for accurate standardsEnsure accurate production performance reportingEvaluate processes and procedures and propose improvement ideasPartners with the site maintenance, sanitation, shipping and quality departments for ongoing production needsLeads employee safety and food safety programs driving a solid culture within the departmentEngages production employees at all levels towards performance, efficiency and continuous improvement.Capture continuous improvement ideas thru open and professional communication with production employees and department peersIdentify skills gaps across the team and implement training initiatives to develop employees, build expertise and close gapsManage and control labor allocation following the established standards, focusing on changeovers, overtime, scheduling and crewing rotations.Manage and control material losses to include waste, scrap, usages, cycles and product overweightMaintain a clean, organized, uncluttered and safe work environment, ready for safety, food safety and customer quality auditsParticipate on selection processes of new hires for their shift ensuring proper trainingRequired Qualifications: Demonstrated solid experience in manufacturing environments and/or relevant supervisory experience.Proven ability to lead and deliver continuous improvement processes.Strong interpersonal skills to include communication, team building and leadership developmentStrong customer service approachAbility to comprehend and analyze numerical dataAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible scheduleRequired Qualifications:3+ years of manufacturing experience in progressive management abilities and/or Bachelor's degree1+ years of supervisory experienceProficient with Microsoft Office suiteAble to safely move and work around moving equipment and in a variety of conditions, including standing for long periods of time.Able to lift 50 lbs.Language Skills Requirements:Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, multi-lingual is a plus.Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, and other outside agencies as neededAdditional Information:Roskam Baking Company offers a competitive compensation package including medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and disability insurance and a 401k plan.#INDHPWe are excited to introduce you to all that Roskam has to offer-from the many valuable benefits to programs that support your lifestyle needs and opportunities for professional development.
