Extrusion Supervisor Job Summary:This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities for team members engaged in extruding aluminum at a fast pace aluminum extrusion facility. This position will be in charge of a 5 to 6-person crew including supervision and will be expected to be able to run all machinery safely and be goal oriented. The candidate will need run their crew in the order of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Floor SupervisorsResponsibilities and Duties:To ensure Safety is the #1 priority at all times.Ensures team members are all following all JSP's and conducting monthly JSP's reviewsActively participates and motivates team members to actively participate in continuous improvement activities to promote safety, quality, delivery and cost initiativesCoach/develop, and train team members.Maintains/monitors production goals and effectively communicates requirements to team members.Ensures that department is meeting its production goals. (total pounds, pounds per hour, and recovery)Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes to working conditions and/or equipment use to increase efficiency; improve safety; resolve quality issues; etc.Actively participates in meetings and supports company initiatives in a positive manner.Identifies and reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance team members.Ensures that good quality parts are being ran consistently and they are being handled properly at their corresponding press locationsMaintains good housekeeping/6/S visual workplaceMaintains open communication with the Crew, Supervisors, Production Management and Planning.Must communicate in a timely and effective manner.Must be able to follow directions and complete follow through with directions.Enforces company policies, rules, regulations in a firm, fare, and consistent manner.Qualifications and Skills:Associate's Degree in a related field or Technical school plus (3) years of related supervisory work experience; and or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSolid verbal and written communication skillsBasic math skillsMust be able to read calipers, micrometers, tape measures and Webster'sCritical thinking and problem-solving abilityBenefits:401(k) - with a matchHealth insurance (PPO plans)Dental/Vision Insurance STD/LTDCompany-paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life Insurance for employees, spouses, and childrenAccident and Critical IllnessPaid time off
