Activities & ResponsibilitiesManage Back of House: Oversee all aspects of the kitchen and sushi bar, ensuring the selection and ordering of high-quality fish and ingredients to maintain our menu's integrity.Staff Management: Lead, train, and manage restaurant staff, including chefs, cooks, and servers.Work with underperforming employees to improve performance or address staffing issues.Review server performance regularly to ensure exceptional service standards.Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, including food handling and preparation standards.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area to prevent cross-contamination.Customer Satisfaction: Focus on enhancing customer experience through direct interaction, menu suggestions, and addressing guest feedback.Implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction and repeat business.Training and Development: Conduct and coordinate staff training sessions, including management trainings, to ensure continued professional development and compliance with restaurant policies.Mentor junior staff in sushi preparation techniques, presentation, and culinary standards.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control for sushi ingredients, manage stock rotation, and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.Implement cost-control measures to minimize waste while maintaining high-quality food offerings.Culinary Expertise: Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative sushi dishes and ensuring the quality and consistency of sushi preparation.QualificationsProven experience as a sushi chef or in a supervisory role within a sushi or Japanese restaurant.Strong culinary background with expertise in sushi preparation, including knowledge of different fish types, sushi rice techniques, and food safety standards.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and improve team performance.Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.Customer service-oriented with a record of enhancing customer satisfaction.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Certification in food safety and handling is highly preferred.BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceTips and bonusesOpportunities for professional growth and advancement
