Role Overview: The Production Supervisor oversees staff to product manufactured products, while organizing and monitoring workflows. This role has supervisory responsiblities. Work Environment: Houston, TX, Onsite Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for developing and building winning teams in a positive work environment through effective leadership practices. * Manage operational resources to optimize performance to achieve departmental, functional, and organizational goals. * Initiate and support process improvement activities in support of department goals and objectives. * Drive lean implementation and employee involvement. * Champion high-quality production standards and drive continuous improvement. * Conduct daily work group safety/work group updates (i.e. toolbox talks) * Analyze/supervise assemblies, fabrication, oversee new job set ups, analyze machine/equipment malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments where needed. * Report results of the shift in a specific and complete manner (i.e. time and reporting employee hours, machine malfunctions, material shortages etc.) to promote shift to shift communication. * Ensure employees are properly charging time to tasks worked in ERP system. * Support employee training on safety and ensure all PPE compliance and safety precautions are in place and being followed. * Ensure all new hires/contractors coming onto the floor receive proper job induction before beginning formal role. * Partner with Planning and Purchasing to coordinate manufacturing schedule. * Meet daily with employees and other supervisors to ensure good communication is maintained on all issues in the department and the plant. * Evaluate employee's job performance in relation to established production standards. * Check and verify employee's time in the ADP Timekeeping system for accuracy prior to approving for weekly payroll processing. Enter employee's schedules and changes for tracking. * Responsible for harboring the proper attitude toward health and safety through demonstrated behavior, active involvement in Safety. * This is a working supervisor role and will be required to clock into jobs worked as appropriate. * Collaborate and provide feedback to Manager during employee performance review. * Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Associates Degree preferred (in mechanical or technical field) or equivalent experience. * Minimum Two years supervisory experience in a production manufacturing environment. * Lean training and 1-2 years related experience preferred. * Overhead Crane and Forklift will be required. * Rigging heavy parts experience required. Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch. * The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lens.
