Supervisor Production (1st shift)

Job Description Supervisory Capacity: Direct Reports: 20+ * Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the ProductionManager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work). * Provide productionexpectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meetings. * Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed. * Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operatortraining matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets. * Compile KPI dataand populate end of shift report. Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel. * Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced. Additional Responsibilities * Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members. * Monitor quality of product throughout the production process. * Participates in TeamLeader meetings and Quality initiatives. * Daily review of process and people toidentify and implement CI opportunities. RequiredEducation Level High School Graduate or Equivalent Area of Study: General Studies *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions. Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge) * Minimumof 3 years of experience in production * Minimum of 1 year of experience within the automotive industry * Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confinedspaces. * Computer literacy * Excellent oral communication skills * Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge) * Just in Time (JIT) environment experience, preferred. * Proficient organizational skills. * Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
