Maintenance Mechanic 1 SALARY: $52,920 - $56,880 LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington DESCRIPTION: This position performs semi-skilled and sub journey level building maintenance. This position performs general repairs when no immediate journey-level tradesperson is available or needed. This position may work independently in routine maintenance assignments or under the technical direction of a journey-level position. This is a classified position reporting to the Plant Manager 3. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Ability to interpret the information provided within Maintenance & Operations manuals, blueprints, schematics, shop drawings. * Safe completion of assigned work orders within time allotment is essential. * Accurately utilize campus work order system (Megamation); Work order modules. * Perform Preventive and normal Maintenance, operation, and repair of HVAC equipment and other building maintenance assignments. * Maintain a safe work environment and troubleshooting practices. * Practice basic computer skills working in Google Apps (primarily email, Docs, & Sheets), and Megamation * Observance of the Safety Data Sheet policy and procedures. * Closely follow the Maintenance Purchasing System (Training provided). * Eager and able to Learn the Building Management System (Training provided). * Suggest efficiency measures to leadership. * Provide quality assistance in identifying the root cause of related problems, providing input and information in support of the campus/facilities mission. * Maintain and organize parts and equipment supplies, lists, catalogs, and maintain safety records. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma, GED, OR equivalent education. * Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Basic computer skills (Google Suite). * Properly complete training as assigned including full completion of the course and homework as assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Course work in Basic Electronics * Work experience in a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, of Electrical, HVAC, building envelope issues, including windows, carpentry, door hardware. * This position may work independently and utilize a general knowledge of several related skill fields such as electrical such as lighting and plumbing and door hardware. PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed both inside and outside, exposing the worker to a variety of weather conditions. Exposure to high noise levels and a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding, lifts, ladder, and high places, and exposure to heat, weather extremes for the Pacific Northwest and work with various chemicals. The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand for sustained periods, push and pull using steady force, and perform activities requiring repetitive arm-hand movements is essential. Lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally, with assistance and up to 50 pounds frequently is required. Driving a college truck or van is necessary, which requires a valid Washington State driver¿s license. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written is a must due to safety processes WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 5 consecutive days, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. COMPENSATION: Salary range 44G. Beginning salary is $52,920 - $56,880 annually, with progressive increases to $61,404, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 3 personal leave days, and 14 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).
