You will lead your team in a manufacturing company where projects are engineered to specifications. The position is challenged with coordinating, prioritizing, delegating assignments, training and directly ensuring work orders are completed as scheduled to meet client demands.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESDaily scheduling of departmental jobsPlanning execution of jobs with operations team by directing and leading a team of hourly membersComprehending work orders, shop drawings, bill of material, and narratives and clearly communicating the information to employeesGaining commitments by reviewing hourly expectations of what is required to be fabricated/assembled each dayManaging estimated versus actual hoursControlling departmental inventory for product on shop floorReducing the amount of rework from the departmentUnderstanding and evaluating of fabrication methods for maximum efficiencyInteracting with Production Manager to assure clear communication and maximum job outputEnsuring all employees are practicing safe work methodsImplementing a team concept into fabrication to help problem solve and improve on efficiencyManaging employees to ensure they are performing to expectations to which they have committedBeing visible and accessible on the shop floor throughout each day to field employeequestions and monitor job progressImplementing and maintaining all safety procedures within the company standardsConducting 90 day and annual performance evaluations for direct reportsAny other work assigned by the Operations ManagerQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred5-10 years of production experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing field desired7+ years of welding/fabrication experience is requiredProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google appsAbility to communicate effectively in conversation and writingAbility to train and lead othersPREFERRED SKILLSGood references with excellent work attendance and attitude.OUR COMMITMENTAt Robinson, we value professionalism, expertise, and a dedication to craftsmanship.
