Work Crew Supervisor Clermont County Municipal Court Adult Probation & Community Service Department Full-Time, Classified, Exempt Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Minimum Annual Salary $37,440 Reports directly to the Chief Probation Officer, under the supervision of the Coordinator of Special Services and Community Service Director. This employee is primarily responsible for supervising a work crew of offenders required to complete community service for the Municipal and Common Pleas Courts. Job Duties: Duties of this position include supervising a work crew of misdemeanor and felony offenders completing community service; transporting offenders in a passenger van or crew truck to and from recycling drop-off locations throughout the county; assessing offender strengths and abilities to assign offenders to specific duties; ensuring a safe work environment and reducing risk to offenders and the public while community service work is being completed; ensuring project completion at work sites as scheduled; following safety procedures to ensure that offenders are completing work in a safe manner, not using tools or equipment that could cause injury or death; notifying the Community Service Director of any maintenance or repairs needed on the work crew vehicles; ensuring that their work crew vehicles are clean and stocked with the appropriate tools, equipment, safety equipment and first aid supplies. This employee is also responsible for keeping accurate records of offenders on the work crew and the hours they have completed. This information is kept on individual handwritten timesheets which is entered into the court's computer system. Upon completion of hours, the work crew supervisor may be responsible to ensure that the offenders' cases are properly closed in the computer and that required termination paperwork is complete and submitted to the Community Service Director to be placed in the offenders' court files. This employee is also responsible for: keeping accurate records of recycling site issues and container usage and fill levels; run litter crews and be responsible for collecting accurate information such as the location of roadways cleaned, mileage covered, and number of bags collected; and be responsible to ensure this information is forwarded to the Director for processing Additional duties will be assigned as needed by the Chief Probation Officer, Coordinator of Special Services and/or Community Service Director. Employee must understand and follow county and departmental safety procedures, which includes handling of confidential information. Position requires moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should possess a high school diploma. Previous supervisory or management experience, knowledge of the judicial system, and familiarity with the Clermont County area is desired. Position requires direct supervision of offenders in the community; managerial, supervisory and motivational skills; knowledge of safety requirements, first aid, and lifesaving techniques; ability to operate a crew truck or 15-passenger van with trailer; knowledge of office practices and procedures; ability to define problems and draw appropriate conclusions; Windows based computer skills and capability to learn department-specific computer software programs and equipment; and education, training and/or experience required to perform the duties of this position. Ability to work in a team oriented work environment and independently as specific job duties dictate. Employee must have and maintain a safe driving record and valid driver's license.
