FERTILIZER INSPECTOR - TAMPA, FL PAYING: $20.00 - $21.00 PER HOUR SUMMARY: Visits client facilities, including barges and ships, for cleanliness inspections. Sampling of a variety of commodities including petroleum, petrochemicals and fertilizer for laboratory analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receives orders, obtains information, and gathers paperwork from Operations Supervisor(s) on movements. Ensures that all equipment is in good operating condition calibration verification, correct and clean. This includes safety and monitoring equipment appropriate to the job. Reports to job-site punctually and observes all Inspectorate applicable federal and state regulations and standards, Terminal, Refinery, and/or vessel requirements, including safety and measurement standards. Represents Inspectorate by appearance and conduct. Behaves ethically at all times. Communicates any problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the Operations Supervisor and/or Dispatcher without delay. Performs terminal facility and vessel hold inspections to guarantee product to be loaded is not contaminated. Hold inspections require intense stair / ladder climbing and on on occasion the use of highlifts. Obtains samples of vessel(s), barge(s), railcar(s), and/or tank truck(s) as specified per job order. Labels sample containers with full and correct identifying data, including location of sample, material, type of sample, safety information, time collected, etc. Promptly and accurately completes all required paperwork and distributes copies appropriately. Promptly and safely delivers samples to an Inspectorate laboratory for analysis or turn in for retain, or client facilities for analysis or retain. Reviews any discrepancies with Operations Supervisor, signs and returns job order form. Ensures contractors are properly equipped and trained at each job site. Training new contractors may be held outside of normal shifts. Communicates with relieving contractor / inspector to ensure key information is passed on. Full time workers will be expected to track their own vessels docking / shifting times. Maintains a 24-hour on-call status. Supports and participates in Inspectorate s Business Management System (BMS). Attends company meetings as required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Knowledge of company HS&E procedures and associated governmental regulations. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license required.
