Job Title: Shipping Clerk Reports To: Shipping/Receiving Manager Employment Status: Full time FLSA Status: Non-exempt Position Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible to assist with carrying out day-to-day operations for the Shipping department. To ensure established objectives for shipping, delivery, and timeliness are met or exceeded. To assist with paperwork and load planning both internal and external. Essential Functions: * Effective coordination and communications with customer service, plant management, 3rd party drivers and internal warehouse personnel. * Receive, review and assign truck appointments, prepare outbound load schedules for St. Francis facility of customer goods. * Accurately prepare and maintain all paperwork for shipping, using the load planner within Maverik. * Accurately and efficiently prepare all truck load and LTL shipment paperwork, from both the 3M portal and Maverik. * Complete load requests using the 3M portal, for both LTL and truckload * Process shipped loads accurately and timely within Maverik. * All other duties as assigned Qualifications: * 1-2 years of shipping / receiving clerk experience * Attention to detail for accurate documentation and timely reporting of all information * Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment * Ability to switch gears and respond to quickly changing order priorities * Maintain professional relationship with customers, both internal and external * Assist truckers and freight services loading and unloading and with paperwork * Strong computer skills * Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills * Ability to lift up to 50lbs * Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment. * Ability to understand and meet ISO, AIB, and GPM standards * Must have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills * Must be a self-starter * Forklift experience is a plus * Must exhibit the following competencies: * Job Knowledge: Competent in required job skills and knowledge. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent Work Environment: This position is routinely required to work in an environment that produces a loud amount of noise. Physical Demands: This position is required to stand and walk up to 1/3 or the time. This position is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or touch. Will verbally communicate and hear more than 2/3 of the time. This position does require the individual to lift up to 50 lbs. Close and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus are required to perform this position.
