General Summary: The Service Technician I is responsible for the service, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and general repairs of diesel and gas-powered generation equipment. This role requires the ability to perform most duties with minimal guidance, while adhering to Multiquip's standards. The technician will primarily work in the shop but may be assigned fieldwork as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform preventative maintenance on power generation equipment according to Multiquip's established guidelines and service/maintenance schedules. * Accurately identify and order appropriate/required items to complete general maintenance requirements. * Track and manage inventory during inspection and repair processes * Conducts standard repairs on power generation equipment and related supporting accessories; replace supporting accessories when required. * Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts with general direction. * Conduct basic functional and continuity tests on electrical assemblies and components; familiarity with tools like ohmmeters, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments is preferred. * Collaborate with other service technicians to ensure work is performed safely and meets Multiquip's standards. * Assist senior technicians as needed. * Request equipment and or supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of the items required to complete necessary jobs. * Prepares and completes service reports in a precise and timely manner. * Participates in meetings and trainings as assigned for the purpose of conveying or gathering information required to perform job functions. * Adhere to Multiquip's quality standards and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment. * Performs other duties as assigned by the employees' manager/supervisor. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: * High school diploma or (GED) equivalent; * Minimum of 2 years of experience with current (2020 and newer) power generation equipment and T4F engines. * Diesel engine generator and electrical troubleshooting experience preferred. Qualifications: * Must be a strong team player with a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. * Mechanically inclined and eager to learn the equipment for future growth opportunities. * Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. * Willingness and ability to travel to job sites for repairs as needed. * Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting flow charts, and service procedures. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey technical information. * Proficient in using standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, web-based service tools, and reporting tools. * Able to operate all necessary standard tools required to complete repairs. Skill Areas Needed: * Basic Electrical Skills: Knowledge of basic electrical principles and safety protocols, with the ability to perform simple wiring tasks, inspections, and connections. * Preventative Maintenance: Must be able to perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks, on a range of equipment. Conduct visual inspections and basic diagnostic tests. * Troubleshooting: Must be able to identify and resolve straightforward issues like loose connections or worn parts. Use basic diagnostic tools with some supervision as needed. * Power Generation Knowledge: Must be able to safety perform and record generator output and load bank testing. Complete basic generator controller software updates. * Engine Knowledge: Understand basic diesel engine components and systems. Familiar with common tools, diagnostic equipment, safe practices of test and operation. * Communication Skills: Must be able to clearly communicate issues, findings, and progress to the shop manager or senior technicians. * Time Efficiency: Able to complete level I jobs with a minimum of 85% productivity. Licenses, Certifications and Training: * Must have valid driver's license and good driving record. * Completed or actively participating in technical online training courses such as Isuzu, John Deere, and any Multiquip assigned training courses (preferred) Physical Requirements: The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
