In other words, "Doing what we say they are going to do each and every time."Be Seriously PassionateWe believe in what we do and are strongly committed to the success of their teammates, client partners, vendor partners, their company, and to the construction industry.We are seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead the initial planning phases of our construction projects, oversee feasibility, budgeting, risk management, and compliance to lay a strong foundation for success.The WorkCoordinate and manage the overall efforts and workload of the Estimating Department; bring structure, streamline efforts, and allocate department resources to create efficiencies, meet bid deadlines, and improve bid win rateServe as the bridge between the estimators and the clientsReview and refine estimates to catch and correct errorsMaintain continuous communication with clients during the bidding process to gain insights, make adjustments, and understand the drivers of lossesAct as a resource for the estimators by sharing insights about market trends, escalations in materials and adjusting their approach to estimatingGenerate estimates when the workload of the department warrantsTap into your extensive industry network of vendors, suppliers, GC’s, and business development contacts to help drive revenue growthDevelop and grow the estimating team, perhaps by bringing your own people with youYour MindsetHighly motivated by winning, keeping deadlines, and keeping the team on scheduleComfortable asking difficult questions to gain insights and an edge in the bidding processExtremely organized with obsessive follow up and follow through skillsStrong prioritization skillsCompulsive need to conquer and see things through to the endUnflappable temperament, not easily intimidatedCurious and inquisitive; a natural detectivePrefer to avoid fires rather than scrambling to put them outEasily builds internal and external relationships; not afraid to ask clients for information, vendors for better pricing, or colleagues for helpYou hate to lose but are not afraid to failRequirements & SkillsAt least 7-10 years experience in the construction industry with a focus on commercial concrete projects5 years in a preconstruction management role preferred with a strong track record of building teams and contributing to the overall growth of an organizationBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field helpful but not requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.
