Heating Air Conditioning Technician

Position: HVAC TechnicianLocation: Rockford, ILPay: $21-$34/hr depending on experience. Summary: The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs to all HVAC equipment.Responsibilities:Perform electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs to HVAC and related equipment with minimal supervisionTroubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and other types of control systemsMaintain boilers, heating systems, and associated equipmentInstall new equipment and relocate existing equipment as requiredPerform preventive and predictive maintenance to identify required work so repairs can be scheduled during other than high demand times and/or minimal interruption to production requirementsProperly fill out Maintenance Work Requests to ensure accurate records of work performed on all equipmentKeep work areas clean and safe from hazardous conditionsQualifications & Experience:3 to 7 years of experience in a similar fieldMust have experience with electrical 3 phase, 480 voltageAbility to understand and apply electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration drawings, schematics, and manualsAbility to diagnose and repair air handler chiller units and air conditioning unitsAbility to use basic electrical test equipmentDemonstrated proficiency with all types of refrigeration tests and service equipmentProficient with all types of hand toolsProficient with brazing and solderingAbility to communicate effectively and function as a team memberMust be able to work safely at heights and properly use all required safety equipmentMust attend company-sponsored training courses as requiredMust be willing to work overtime as requiredEducation:High school education (or GED)CFC certifiedPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
