This position is part of the CO2 laser development group in Novanta's Precision Manufacturing business unit. Novanta has come to be recognized as a leader in the development of sealed CO2 lasers and electro-optics technologies. Based on our patented "All Metal" tube technology, there are now well over 350,000 Novanta CO2 lasers in use throughout the world. Novanta CO2 lasers are used in a wide variety of industrial applications, including marking, coding, engraving, cutting, and converting on a wide range of target materials. As a Sr. Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and managing projects from conception to completion. You will lead project teams and manage communication to upper leadership and stakeholders. You will also develop project controls and risk management procedures. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. * Lead engineering, operational, and commercial projects, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives. * Develop detailed project plans with clearly defined scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation, and resource allocation. * Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and commercial functions. * Ensure project teams are staffed and resourced appropriately to maximize efficiency and delivery. * Drive projects with a sense of urgency and effectively communicate prioritization to team members. * Monitor project progress, proactively identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. * Communicate project status, updates, and issues to stakeholders and senior management on a regular basis. * Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. * Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project team. * Manage project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and change orders. * Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed. * * Action-Oriented: Approaches work with a sense of urgency and drive. * Executional Rigor: Uses metrics to measure progress and inform decision-making. * Adaptability: remain resilient in a dynamic and rapidly changing work environment * Effective Prioritization: identify the vital few and focus resources on the most impactful tasks. * Critical Thinking: Synthesizes data into crisp and sound strategic insights and conclusions. * Collaborative Team Player: Is intentional about seeking input and including others when making decisions. * Humility: self-aware, vulnerable, willing to reflect critically on opportunities for self-improvement. * Interpersonal Influence: listens, embraces productive conflict, works across functions and BU boundaries. * Analytical Mindset: ability to problem-solve and make data-driven decisions * Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field. * At least 5 years of experience (more than 10 preferred) managing and delivering projects within a technical environment. * High proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. PMP Certification preferred. * Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
