This risk management position supports Middle Market Banking Group which covers companies generally between $20 million and $500 million in revenues across a wide variety of industries. As a Vice President in MMBSI Credit Risk, you will partner with a cross functional team delivering credit solutions that support a range of needs from working capital and general corporate purposes to acquisition finance and dividend recapitalizations. Additionally, you will work with family owned businesses, financial sponsors and some publicly traded companies. Credit executions range from bilateral structures to the syndicated finance bank market and institutional investor transactions. Critical to this role is the ability to develop a broad and deep understanding of the business, financial, competitive and industry risks faced by clients in the assigned portfolio and utilize that view to properly risk grade borrowers, analyze credit requests, structure credit facilities and negotiate credit agreements and other loan documentation.Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Recommend and approve appropriate credit structures relative to risk assessment and policy considerations Utilize advanced credit skills to author concise, thoughtful analysis of relationships using appropriate structure and identifying key risks Work proactively with internal and external contacts to ensure transactions move forward efficiently Lead complex transactions including syndications, financial sponsor transactions and multi-level capital structures Evaluate smaller relationships to evaluate risk profile and recommend simple structures that adequately protect the bank Develop and articulate a dynamic, forward-looking risk assessment of client companies, transactions, competitive threats, and industry and other factors Lead and/or participate in client due diligence and transaction negotiations Attend client, bank, and other meetings to develop a thorough understanding of client companies, management teams, and industry sectors Use financial models to develop a forward-looking credit risk assessment based on key value drivers and sensitized assumptions Manage all steps of the Credit Approval Process including preparing credit approval materials, ensuring all credit risk policies are followed, and present and recommend credits for approval at the appropriate level Analyze and negotiate financing terms and conditions as part of a deal team Review and negotiate legal documentation and coordinate with counsel to ensure terms are appropriate and consistent with credit approval Portfolio Management including providing a well-researched and thoughtful risk assessment of each assigned client on an ongoing basis Provide early identification and proactive management of deteriorating credits and other problem situations Analyze, prepare, and present for approval all required waivers, amendments, and extension Minimum Skills, Experience and QualificationsWe are looking for someone excited to join our organization.
