JOB TITLE Recreation Specialist DEPARTMENT Residential Treatment Center- RTC LOCATION Sea Cliff NY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the development of a multi-cultural and multi-sensory recreational program involving Special Physical Education, Art, Music and other activities.Work alongside supervisors and childcare workers to implement planned recreational activities for all residents both on-grounds and plete required documentation for all recreation activities on daily basis, as well as reports for weekly Family Team Conferences.Assist in planning and implementation of celebrations and special events on campus.Ensure that all rules, regulations and safety practices are properly enforced at all times.Scheduled to work with residents after school, on weekends, and during school vacations. Schedule may require flexibility based on the needs of the RTC.Other duties will be required as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree in Education, Special Education, Recreation, Physical Education, Creative Arts TherapiesExperience with MR/DD populationSpelling/grammar skillsComputer LiterateValid, clean NYS Driver's License III. WORKING CONDITIONS 20 hours per week, to include at least one weekend dayThe work schedule will be permanent 4 days per week 3pm-8pm, however may require adjustments determined by needs of the RTCMust be available for special trips and events SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Carry on assignments as are deemed appropriate and necessary to the functioning of the Department.
