Job Title: Right of Way Agent Job Description Investigate, research, advise field operations on any existing rights, and acquire easement rights. Approve the real estate aspect of work orders, drawings, construction engineering plans, and pipeline projects for distribution, operation, and gas storage facilities. Ensure right-of-way acquisitions comply with laws, rules, and regulations. Review pre-selected route alternatives, assemble tax maps, research company's Land Management Archives for existing easement documents, and research maps/plots for easement & right-of-way. Present acquisition documents to landowners, negotiate additional terms, conditions, and necessary documentation, including zoning issues, such as special use permits & development issues. Work directly with other internal groups within the company. Work diligently to attain permits, understanding zoning requirements, and ensuring high communication with clients. Travel within the service territory, typically accomplished within a day. The role involves 40% fieldwork and 60% office work. Essential Skills * Experience in land acquisition, easement, and utilities engineering. * Knowledge of gas pipeline and utility sectors. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. * Experience with zoning, permitting, and easement negotiation. * Ability to read and interpret engineering plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in municipal engineering, government agency interactions, and forestry. * Knowledge of land development, permit applications, and real estate law. * Experience with real estate transactions and document management. Work Environment The typical in-office schedule is Monday/Friday remote/work-from-home, with a split between office and fieldwork (approximately 40% field and 60% office). There is a modest potential for overtime, with a maximum of 5-10 hours per week.
