CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)Position SummaryOur client, a mission-driven organization focused on transformative social impact, is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations. The CFO will oversee all financial functions, including strategic planning, budgeting, compliance, and reporting, while managing the finance, facilities, and IT teams. This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with the Board of Directors to provide guidance on financial matters that support organizational growth and sustainability. The CFO will also serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, ensuring the effective utilization of resources and compliance with state funding and nonprofit regulations.Why Work Here? Join a mission-driven organization making a lasting impact on the community.Collaborate with a forward-thinking leadership team committed to innovation and sustainability.Play a key role in developing financial strategies that support meaningful organizational success.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute financial strategies that align with our client's mission and long-term objectives.Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and management of operational and capital budgets.Provide the CEO and Board Finance Committee with timely, actionable financial insights.Manage daily financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, receivable, and billing.Ensure accurate and timely billing to third-party payers and compliance with state funding entities.Actively manage cash flow and optimize the use of restricted and unrestricted funds.Write, prepare, and oversee grant applications and reporting for state, local, and foundation funding.Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and state regulations.Serve as a liaison to state agencies, such as DCF, DMHAS, and DSS, to ensure reimbursement compliance.Lead and mentor teams across finance, IT, and facilities, fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration.Partner with leadership to develop sustainable funding models and program growth strategies.Continuously evaluate and optimize financial systems for transparency and operational efficiency.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or master's degree preferred.At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership, including experience in nonprofit accounting, government contracts, and grant management.Expertise in nonprofit financial management and compliance.Proficiency in accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred) and electronic health record systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience with behavioral health medical billing.Familiarity with state funding agencies such as DCF, DMHAS, and DSS.#LI-EL1#INNOV2024#LI-onsite
