able to manage up & down * A problem solver with foresight and the ability to develop creative solutions * Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment * A strong team player, willing to roll up their sleeves * Interested in the digital and video landscape with a desire to innovate and keep up with trends * Excited to lead, grow, and coach team members * An advocate for and supporter of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion What You'll Do Team Management, Delegation, and Mentorship - 20% * Oversee junior team members, and manage expectations with team leadership in the creation of media specific documents such as media plans, buy documents, objectives and strategies decks and other related functions * Oversee junior team members tasks in negotiating and maintaining schedules * Support team in setting goals and project tasks & timelines, ensuring team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills, contributing to overall team success * Have foresight and understanding of projects to maintain and adjust timing of deliverables for team at large, communicating changes to managers and leadership * Manage and develop junior team members growth plans and career goals: including providing clear next steps for growth, suggest training opportunities, and ensure actions are taken * Provide ongoing education and training on best practices, media principles, policies/procedures, and computer systems to junior team Relationship Management - 10% * Foster strong, mutually beneficial relationships, building trust and accountability with Horizon Media departments to facilitate problem solving, i.e. Business Solutions, Social Marketplace, HX AdOps, Analytics, as well as clients * Work closely with vendors to promote advantageous relationships for our clients * Apply knowledge of current/previous clients' specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships Buy Negotiation, Development, and Account Management - 40% * Negotiate aggressive and advantageous pricing with vendors in various marketplaces (Upfront, Scatter, Direct Response, Opportunistic, Biddable, etc.) * Steward buys across multiple accounts, managing to individual client KPIs and deliverables (GRPs, Impressions, response data) * React quickly to campaign results, and implement required optimizations as directed while also providing client facing insights into buying strategy, network performance and optimizations * Manage RFP creation and review of partners/site responses, act of point of escalation for partner negotiations * Oversee management of budgets and deliverables (GRPs, impressions, response data, etc.) across investment tactics and team members * Oversee trafficking and site tagging, follow through to ensure sites are enabled, and functioning properly, QA'ing all pixels Media Strategy - 20% * Aid in developing and articulating media strategies as it pertains to digital planning and buying, building tactical plans per client KPIs; responsible for proofing and delivering final buys * With the guidance of the account team, learn to incorporate data from Horizon Media's suite of planning, evaluation and buying tools for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development and reporting * Stay on top of marketplace conditions, monitoring trends, tools, opportunities and applications within digital and video environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge to campaign strategy and client goals * Provide final sign off on insertion orders within internal systems tool and accuracy of plan details Reporting & Analysis - 10% * Collaborate with Horizon Next Analytics & Business Solutions teams to aggregate data and ensure standardization across Next accounts * Act as resource for junior team members as they work through optimization strategies, proactively communicating challenges and opportunities across the buying strategy and partner performance * Review dashboard and all insights and provide feedback as necessary to ensure accuracy ahead of client delivery * Oversee weekly campaign pacing, clearance and goal delivery, reacting quickly to results and implement required optimizations for all accounts Preferred Skills & Experience * Experience working in fast-paced advertising/marketing environment * Minimum 5 years' experience in active buying across various channels and buying methods (video, display, programmatic) for both performance and awareness driven campaigns * Strong Excel skills and comfortable working in PowerPoint * Negotiation skills and existing media industry relationships * Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills * Leadership and supervisory experience * Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and make recommendations to internal teams * Buy-management experience, analyzing metrics including CPL & CPM * Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts * Experience with third-party ad server and ad verifications (DCM, Double Verify, Innovid preferred) * Experience with biddable channels and partner direct * Experience developing strategic video and digital media recommendations * Understanding of advanced analytics and performance media #LI-LT1 #LI-Hybrid #HN Horizon Media is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. Salary Range $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
