JOB SUMMARY The 2nd shift Production Supervisor directs, coordinates and implements scheduled workload for specified Focus Factory. Assigns the work to specific work areas in order to complete the production on time and available on the required shipment dates. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Supervise the general production of the plant operations to maximize productivity and efficiency. * Accountable for all team metrics including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost * Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the focus factory * Maintain good lines of communication between other supervisors. * Coordinate and assign work orders to appropriate work areas, assist and guide staff in completing production orders. * Take appropriate actions in order to complete any "rush" orders received on the shop floor. * Answer questions and provide explanations on company policies and guidelines for staff. * Provide other shift supervisors with written and verbal reports regarding unresolved production problems as well as positive production performances. * Advise, coach, develop, and grow teams by providing continuous feedback on performance management, policy adherence, training, and all other employee life cycle responsibilities. * Other duties may be assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Knowledge of production departments in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization. * Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable and well organized. * Basic PC skills, including experience using MS Word, Excel or equivalent. SAP preferred but not required. * Problem solving and analytical skills. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, ratios, and percent and read and understand engineering production drawings. * Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. * Requires good understanding of machine shop technology, polishing and assembly functions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelors degree with 3-5 years experience in a leadership role or Associate's Degree or Technical School degree with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred * Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts or in a continuous improvement environment COMPETENCIES Aligning Performance for Success Focusing and guiding others in accomplishing work objectives.
