Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is a shared service organization that delivers services to all Munich Re US P&C Companies and other group entities. IT Business Solutions Finance North America group delivers business value through the management of Financial IT products including implementation of change projects in a disciplined, business focused, engaged and methodical way to all Finance units in Munich Re North America. The Project Manager will play a key role in the development and management of the MRAS North America Financial applications. The role will report to the Head of Business Solutions Finance - North America and be a key technology support partner to the business application owners. This role is responsible for planning software products (with regards to time, budget and scope) and ensures quality, time and budget objectives. Ensures customer oriented and economically beneficial project implementation as well as the compliance with IT-internal guidelines. Job Responsibilities: * Drive innovation solutions and concepts through an innovation methodology pipeline from ideate to launch and scale. * Collaborate with business community and business technology stakeholders on new product hypotheses for feasibility studies, pilots and minimum viable products (MVPs). * Guides the team and organization on how to leverage Agile/Scrum practices and values to maximize the delivery of business value. * Acts to apply Agile/Scrum practices in a manner to best suit the needs of the organization. * Tracks project report (i.e. workload, budget) by using the designated tools and publishes prescribed team metrics. * Guides the team on applying self-organizing, self-corrective behaviors; analyzing and adapting to the feedback inputs (eg. Metrics, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, etc.), all for the purpose of building high performing teams. * Designs and implements changes in the project (i.e. approach, scope, schedule). * Builds a trusting environment where issues are raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on correcting and problem solving. * Champions collaborative discussion, decision making, and problem solving. * Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. * Coordinates and encourages participation from all team members in scrum ceremonies (Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective) and longer term planning exercises (Road Mapping, Release Planning) * Supports and educates the Product Owner in applying the scrum framework and agile principles, and in particular the importance of refining and maintaining the product backlog. * Works with Product Owner and Team to plan and execute project implementations. * Assists in the identification and mitigation of project risks. * Conducts regular assessments of a team's Scrum Maturity and uses the results to guide them to improved performance. * Participates in organizational assessments of agile practices and takes ownership of resulting action items to advance the agile transformation. * Staffs projects in alignment with line managers and delivery areas (i.e. pilot/key users) and manages project team. * Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Your profile Qualifications and Experience: * University degree, preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification * Several years of experience in IT, preferably in application development with in-depth knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle * Demonstrable experience in agile project management methodologies like Scrum * Strong experience in the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders, ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient way combined with profound cost consciousness. * Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes. * Consultative and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing. * A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks are essential. * Fluent spoken and written English as well as willingness to travel internationally. * Must be accustomed and experienced with fast changing requirements on given project(s). * Experience with Project Management and Test Management tools is desirable. * Understanding of Reinsurance or Primary insurance core business processes is a plus.
