The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Technology Services Division in the Maintenance and Operations Project Management Office. This position provides project management through all phases of a project life cycle: planning, execution, monitoring and control and closure activities. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with cross-functional teams, both internally and with external vendors or third parties, through meetings and progress measurement activities to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to critical business activities. The Project Manager provides project management and or technical expertise to business analyst, division program personnel, and system owners to support the identification of accurate and complete business and functional system requirements. This position also reviews and provides feedback for any input to a project, from a program/customer and or a vendor, regarding the quality and effectiveness of the deliverables submitted by contractors and supports the testing of solution components to validate that the business requirements are met. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * Knowledge of project definition and scoping; requirements definition; identification of key objectives, risks, and drivers; creating plans to manage those elements; and non-user acceptance testing. * Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and practices as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). * Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking. * Strong initiative, sound judgement, and critical thinking skills. * Ability to manage varying deadlines and multiple projects. * Meet minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or a related field. * Three or more years job-related experience leading projects through all phases of a project life cycle, including system design, development, implementation, and process reengineering. * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired. * Experience with MS Project or other project management tools preferred (Jira, Daptiv, etc.) (Four years of relevant work experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
