Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility and equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration systems, chillers, boilers, and lab equipment. This role involves significant hands-on duties, working with external contractors to troubleshoot issues and ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform repair and maintenance of facility and equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration systems, chillers, cold rooms, water tower, high/low-pressure boilers, vacuum pumps, and lab equipment.Monitor climate control systems daily; perform preventive maintenance as scheduled; repair mechanical and control functions of HVAC equipment.Ensure appropriate temperature levels in freezers and cold rooms, and maintain documentation of all maintenance and repairs.Monitor boiler pressure and the purified water system to maintain proper operation levels, water pressure, and purity.Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including air handlers, air compressors, HVAC systems, WFI systems, cold rooms, and production equipment, according to the maintenance schedule.Provide ongoing repairs of lab equipment to support production needs.Offer 24/7 on-call coverage for emergency response to critical equipment failures.Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, meeting room setups, and relocation of furniture or equipment.Maintain HVAC/refrigeration certification issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as boiler and wastewater licenses.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.Associate's degree preferred but not required. Frequently lifts and/or moves objects weighing 25 to 60 pounds and objects weighing up to 25 pounds in difficult positions; occasionally required to lift and/or move objects over 60 pounds. Works in various conditions, including adverse weather (rain, snow, heat, cold). Operates in all areas of the facility, including electrical/mechanical rooms, around production equipment, and on the roof; noise levels vary by assignment. Personal protective equipment is required. Preferred QualificationsHVAC/Refrigeration Certification.Experience with WFI systems.Boiler knowledge.Basic electrical knowledge.General facility/maintenance experience.Wastewater License is beneficial.
